Merge PDF files without uploading them

Combine up to 20 PDFs into one document. Pages are copied object-for-object, so text stays selectable and line art keeps its edges.

What this merge keeps

Page content, fonts, vector art, links and annotations are copied into the new file. Document-level bookmarks and JavaScript actions are not carried over — if you need those, merge in a desktop editor.

Why merge locally

Every mainstream “merge PDF” site works the same way: your pages travel to a server, get stitched together, and come back. For a merged invoice that is a nuisance. For signed contracts, medical records, ID scans or unpublished manuscripts, it means a copy of the document now exists somewhere you do not control, under terms you did not negotiate.

Funstool does the same assembly work with the PDF engine already inside your browser tab. The pages are read from disk, copied into a new document in memory, and saved back through your downloads folder. No request carries the file, so there is no retention window to trust and no account to create.

How to merge PDFs here

  1. Add two or more PDFsDrop the files into the panel together or pick them one by one. Encrypted PDFs are refused rather than half-merged.
  2. Set the orderFiles merge in the order shown in the list. Switch the order control to By name for alphabetical, or remove a file and add it again to move it to the end.
  3. Check the page map, then exportThe preview shows every page in the order it will appear. Export writes one merged.pdf and saves it to your downloads.

What survives — and what does not

The merge copies page objects rather than rasterising them, which is why a merged page looks identical at any zoom level. The fine print is at the document level: outlines (bookmarks), the document title in the viewer's tab, form-field JavaScript and named destinations are not merged. Text, images, vectors, hyperlinks and annotations that live on a page come through untouched.

FAQ

Does merging reduce quality?

No. Nothing is rendered to pixels, so there is no generation loss. A page that was vector before the merge is vector after it, and repeated merges do not degrade it.

Can I merge PDFs with different page sizes?

Yes. Each page keeps its own dimensions, so a mixed A4/Letter file will show slightly different page sizes in the viewer. That is the original layout, not a defect.

Why is there a 20-file limit?

It is a guard rail for browser memory, not a business limit. If you have more files, merge them in batches: merge twenty, then merge the result with the next batch.
