Split a PDF into the pages you need

Cut one document into separate files by page or by range. Every output page is a copy of the original — nothing is flattened, nothing is uploaded.

What splitting keeps

Pages are copied as PDF objects, not rendered. Text stays selectable and vectors stay sharp. Internal links that point to pages left behind in the original will break — that is the only real loss.

Why split a document at all

Most PDFs arrive as one big file because that is how they were exported, not because the content belongs together. A 200-page board pack contains one section your lawyer needs; a scanned bank statement contains one page your accountant asked for; a textbook chapter is twelve pages out of four hundred. Splitting lets you send exactly that, and nothing else — which is both a courtesy and, when the rest of the document is confidential, a reasonable precaution.

Because the split happens in your browser, sending “just page 47” does not mean first handing all 200 pages to a third-party server. The file is opened from disk, the requested pages are copied into new documents, and the originals never move.

How to split a PDF here

  1. Add the fileDrop one PDF into the panel. The preview shows every page as a numbered tile so you can see the boundaries you are working with.
  2. Pick a modeEvery page produces one file per page. Page ranges takes a list such as 1-3, 4-6, 7 and writes one file per comma-separated group.
  3. ExportEach group downloads as name-part-1.pdf, -part-2.pdf and so on. Browsers may ask permission before saving several files at once.

Ranges, edge cases and the original file

Ranges are inclusive and forgiving: 5-3 is read as 3-5, duplicates are ignored, and numbers beyond the last page are dropped rather than throwing an error. The source file on your disk is never modified — every operation writes a new file, so a bad range costs you nothing but a second attempt.

FAQ

Does splitting reduce quality?

No. The pages are copied, not re-rendered, so there is no resolution to lose. A vector logo is still vector in the split file.

Can I split a PDF into two halves?

Yes — use ranges 1-50, 51-100. Each side becomes its own file, and both are exact copies of their pages.

What about bookmarks and the document title?

Those live at document level rather than on a page, so they are not carried into the split files. If you need the outline preserved, split in a desktop editor instead.
