Keep only the pages you need

Pull specific pages into a new document — one file, or one per page. What you keep is an exact copy of what you had, and the original is left alone.

Vector kept Non-consecutive pages OK Original untouched
What the extracted file keeps

Page content, fonts, vector art and annotations inside the page are copied. Document bookmarks are not part of a page, so they do not travel — and internal links that pointed to pages you left behind will break.

Extract, delete, or split — pick the right one

The three page-selection tools are easy to confuse, and choosing wrong usually means exporting twice. Extract names the pages you want to keep. Delete names the pages you want gone and keeps the rest. Split partitions the document into several files at once. If you are keeping more pages than you are dropping, deleting is usually faster to type; if you are dropping a lot, extracting the survivors is safer.

How to extract pages

  1. Add the PDFThe page map shows every page as a numbered tile, with the ones you select highlighted.
  2. List the pagesEnter something like 1-2, 5, 9-11. Order is normalised, duplicates are ignored, and out-of-range numbers are dropped.
  3. ExportChoose one combined file — pages arrive in document order, not the order you typed them — or one file per page range.

What breaks, and why

Pages travel with their own content, but some things live at document level: the outline, named destinations, JavaScript actions and the AcroForm dictionary that makes form fields interactive. A copied page usually keeps the visual appearance of a form field but loses the behaviour, and a link that pointed to “page 34” now points at nothing. Text, images, vector art, stamps and comments are unaffected.

FAQ

Can I extract pages that are not consecutive?

Yes — that is the normal case. 3, 17, 42-44 is a valid selection and produces a four-page document in that document order.

Will the extracted file be smaller?

Usually much smaller, because unused objects are not copied. A 200-page catalogue cut down to 12 pages typically shrinks by roughly the same ratio, though shared images can keep a little more weight than expected.

Can I extract just the images?

Not with this tool — it extracts pages. If you need the pictures inside a page, export the page as a high-resolution JPG with PDF to JPG and crop.
