Funstool beta
100% in-browser Open a tool
No upload · no account · no watermark

PDF tools that never upload your files.

Merge, split, compress and convert inside this tab. Your browser reads the file, edits the pages as vectors, and saves them straight back to your disk — no server, no queue, no blurry re-rasterising.

Three ways a page can survive.

Every tool states which one you get — on the page and in the preview, before you export.

Vector kept

The page is copied, not redrawn

Text, line art and page boxes move into the new file unchanged. Zoom to 1600% and the edges are still clean.

Fixed DPI

Pixels, on purpose, at 300+ DPI

Only where pixels are the point: JPG export and OFD files. Default 300 DPI, up to 600 with a size warning.

Text only

Editable copy, simplified layout

Word, PowerPoint and Excel need text, not pages. Copy comes through; complex layout is rebuilt approximately.

17 tools. One rule: don't blur the page.

Organise, convert and annotate — every export is previewed before a file is written.

17 tools

Three steps. The file never leaves.

There is no upload button because there is no upload. The browser is the whole pipeline.

01

Add the file

Drop it into the panel. The browser reads the bytes from your disk; nothing is sent anywhere.

02

Set the options

Page ranges, DPI, watermark text. The live preview — page map, resolution, mask — updates as you type.

03

Export and close the tab

The new PDF is assembled in memory and saved to your downloads. Close the tab and the working copy is gone.

“Local” is architecture here, not a promise.

A server-side PDF tool has to hold your contract, your passport scan or your medical report to work on it. Funstool has no such endpoint — the file is opened with the File API, processed in memory, and written back as a Blob.

No upload endpoint exists Not a policy we could quietly change — there is nothing to send the file to.
Works offline after first load Once the page and the PDF engine are cached, the tools keep working with no connection.
Nothing is stored between visits No account, no file history, no analytics on document contents. Language and last tool are the only preferences saved.

Questions people ask before trusting a PDF site

Are my files really not uploaded?

Correct. The file is opened by your browser and processed in JavaScript on your device. There is no upload endpoint in the codebase. You can verify it: open DevTools → Network, run any tool, and watch that no request carries your file.

Does compressing a PDF make it blurry?

Not with the lossless pass: it removes unused objects and rewrites the structure, leaving text, vectors and pixels untouched. There is no “strong” mode that quietly downsamples images — if you need a smaller file, export pages at a lower DPI instead.

Can I use the text editor to redact a contract?

No — and this matters. The editor paints an opaque vector mask over the original text and writes new text on top. The old text is still inside the file and can be selected or extracted. For legal redaction, use a tool that removes the underlying content, then flatten the result.

Why is PDF to Word less accurate than merging?

Merging moves whole pages between files, so nothing has to be interpreted. Converting to Word means deciding what each text run, table and image is, then rebuilding it in a different document model. Scanned PDFs have no text layer at all, so they need OCR first.

Is there a file size limit?

Only your device's memory. A 400 MB limit is enforced in the uploader as a guard rail; in practice most laptops handle 100–200 MB comfortably. Very large scanned PDFs may take a while to parse.
